DRSD Mark VI

Recently, Rolex has been replacing some DRSD dials with this newer version — the Mark VI.

Dial Overview

The dial features Luminova markers, and what makes it particularly interesting is that it appears virtually identical to a replacement white Sea-Dweller dial — with one key distinction: the word “SEADWELLER” has been painted over in red.

The Mark VI raises an immediate question for collectors: is this a factory double-red application over a standard white replacement dial, or a purpose-built variant? The visual evidence is striking — you be the judge.

The same dial exists without the red paint overstrike. See the DRSD Luminova White Replacement Dial page for direct comparison.

Collector Note

The Mark VI sits at the late end of the DRSD production and service spectrum. Its Luminova markers and apparent base-dial construction place it firmly outside the original tritium era. Whether this represents a factory-authorized service replacement or a deliberate late variant, it remains a legitimate and documented configuration in the DRSD lineage.

For direct comparison with the same dial without the red paint, see the DRSD Luminova White Replacement Dial reference page.
